Twitter is in chaos and freefall. Meanwhile, the federated system that is Mastodon is reaping the benefits as users flock to it. I thought I should take a look. Taking a look extended into signing up.
I was impressed by what I saw. Instead of the hot mess of bots and ads I’ve recently been encountering on Twitter, Mastodon felt like a breath of fresh air. Full of people saying cool and creative things.
The time has come to give it a go.

One thing that has caught my attention is that there is no centralised server for Mastodon. Anyone can own their own place on the network. I may be dipping my feet by using a general UK server my thoughts are leaning towards owning my spot in the Fediverse. If that happens, I’ll let you know all about it.
